Mindful Leadership Programs

Mindfulness at the Workplace

How do you support your employees to thrive in a fast-paced, hyper-connected and complex workplace? How do you help them manage stress and optimize focus? And how do you build an inspired environment that truly supports talent development?

In volatile and rapidly changing environments leaders are often stressed, distracted, stretched too thin and have little or no time for creative thinking. This hurts productivity that requires focused human attention and it hurts growth that relies on innovation and creativity. If you are like many other companies, you are likely grappling with how to nurture environments that support those qualities. Our Mindful leadership programs are specifically designed for that purpose.

Mindfulness in general refers to the ability to “pay attention on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally” (Jon Kabat-Zinn). Under stress, Cortisol (stress hormone) is being released and the brain’s executive functions are hijacked, also killing creativity. Mindfulness practices help to de-activate Cortisol and activate Oxytocin (happy hormone).

Mindful Leadership training focuses specifically on helping executives to "de-stressify" and learn to pay attention to what is happening "inside"—notice their thoughts, feelings, reactivity and internal distractions. This gateway to awareness has several benefits. As leaders become less stressed and more present, they become better able to focus their attention, manage their emotions, handle difficult situations and perform more effectively overall (e.g., Hölzel et al.).

There is growing empirical evidence that mindfulness programs at the workplace offer concrete and tangible benefits, according to both scientists and business leaders.

"Mindfulness should no longer be considered a “nice-to-have” for executives. It’s a “must-have;” a way to keep our brains healthy, to support self-regulation and effective decision-making capabilities, and to protect ourselves from toxic stress.”
– HBR: 'Mindfulness Can Literally Change Your Brain’ (January 2015)

Our Mindful Leadership Programs

We offer various immersive programs related to Mindful Leadership that vary in length. Those programs are designed to help executives and leaders acquire skills to become more effective at work, happier and better leaders. While the programs differ in their areas of focus (so they are described as discrete programs), elements of one flows into another and programs can be combined together. Our Mindful Leadership Programs include:

MINDFULNESS-BASED RESILIENCE

LEADERSHIP
EXCELLENCE

  THE LISTENING    ORGANIZATION

MINDFUL
COMMUNICATION

"Orly has a thorough command of the mindfulness theory and practice. She delivers with extreme clarity. Each class we come away with new knowledge about ourselves and a better ability to manage stress and difficult situations.”

-Helaine Dubner, Philadelphia

Core elements across all of our programs:

BRAIN
  • NEUROSCIENCE GROUNDING—You will learn how our brains are wired, and the latest neuroscience evidence regarding how mindfulness helps to re-wire the brain for the better
  • MINDFULNESS TRAINING & MINDFULNESS PRACTICES—You will develop the ability to focus attention in an intended way, strengthen self-awareness and cultivate choice behavior
  • CORE EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE TRAINING—You will acquire the capacity to notice your feelings/moods, understand your triggers, improve self-control and develop empathy
  • EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING—The program includes facilitated discussions, open-ended inquiry and interactive exercises, allowing for practice and integration to create long-lasting effects

When MINDFULNESS PRACTICES are taught combined with EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE and specific tools offered through our programs, they create synergistic effects to support shifts in both mindset & behavior. The program structure and experiential learning create long-lasting effects. As a participant, you will learn to reduce stress, regulate emotions, self-manage, listen deeply, converse effectively and strengthen relationships. As a result, you will experience improved performance, better leadership and more happiness at work.
